The 2nd Annual Gig Harbor Beer Festival a fund-raiser for the Gig Harbor/Peninsula FISH Food Bank will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Uptown Gig Harbor Pavilion.
Get your beer bellys ready, here come the craft brewers. This May, Gig Harbor will once again be home to some of the finest craft brewers in the Northwest during the 2nd Annual Gig Harbor Beer Festival.
Last years inaugural event was a huge success with an estimated 1200+ beer lovers in attendance. The event featured 22 individual kegs of beer from 11 brewers, prizes, and music and was blessed with 77° day in the middle of May.
I dont think there is anything we can do about duplicating the weather from last year, said John Fosberg, the Festivals event coordinator. But were working hard to make this second year much better than the first, with more brewers, more beers to choose from, live music featuring Perry Acker and more space. Mr. Fosberg mentioned the space at Uptown Gig Harbor Pavilion will be about 30% larger in 2013.
It got a little crowded at the Pavilion last year, said Fosberg, and the folks at Uptown were extremely helpful in allowing us to find ways to make more room for everything this coming year. That means more brewers (almost twice as many), more beer and shorter lines.
