For many of us, our dogs are members of our family. We want to take them everywhere with us, including our travels, to Friday happy hour, and out to eat! Besides, is there anything more Pacific Northwest than dining with your dog? With the weather getting nicer, more restaurants are opening up their patios for outdoor dining, meaning we can finally start having our furry friends dine with us again. Here are eight Pierce County restaurants that want to see you and your dog as you visit the South Sound!
Vibe: Fancy Fido
Treat your dog to the finer things of Pierce County!
Copper & Salt Northwest Kitchen, Ruston
You may be surprised that this upscale waterfront Italian restaurant at the bottom of Silver Cloud Hotel Tacoma at Point Ruston Waterfront allows dogs, but they do! While dogs aren't welcome to stay at the hotel, they are invited to join you on their patio overlooking the Salish Sea and the Cascade and Olympic Mountains.
Millville Pizza Co. Gig Harbor
Transport yourself and your dog to the Italian countryside on Millville's patio amidst a grape vine-wrapped pergola and a beautiful view of the harbor. The wood-fired pizza is reason enough to visit, but the large wine selection really sets this place apart from other pizza destinations.
Farm 12 Restaurant, Puyallup
Just outside downtown Puyallup sits Farm 12, a farm-to-table restaurant with fresh ingredients and a coveted weekend brunch. Located in a giant barn style building on the actual farm, the restaurant has a huge outdoor seating area set with umbrellas, fire pits, and a gorgeous view of plants and flowers on the farm. If your dog appreciates fresh food as much as you do, why not bring them to experience rustic farm elegance?
Vibe: Doggo joins the family fun
When the whole family heads out for dinner, wouldn't it be great to bring the pupper as well? These all-ages patios are especially welcoming to your family's best friend.
Bruno’s Family Restaurant and Bar, Eatonville
Named after the owners' rescue dog, Bruno's promises a “tail-wagging good time” to everyone who dines there, including dogs! The staff is happy to seat you and your pup on their expansive outdoor patio for any meal of the day, so it's on for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With ample covering and outdoor heaters, you're sure to be comfortable in rain or shine.
E9 Firehouse and Gastropub, Tacoma
What's a firehouse without a dog? Located inside an historic restored firehouse, E9 Firehouse and Gastropub has been open since 1972. It's rumored that servers bring treats to well-behaved dogs, so this might become your pup's favorite spot! Though "pub" is in the name, diners of all ages are welcome. You'll find classic pub favorites on the menu, from chicken wings to nachos, burgers, sandwiches, and fish and chips.
Tony’s Tacos Food Truck, Puyallup
You'll appreciate the authentic Mexican food, and your dog will absolutely appreciate the incredible smells of carne asada and other grilled meats coming from Tony's Tacos. This welcoming white bus has become known as one of the best taquerias in Pierce County. Pull up a chair in the covered, heated outdoor seating and order a pile of tacos for the family!
Vibe: Boozin' and barking
Happy hour isn't just for the bipedal anymore.
Wicked Pie Pizza, Puyallup
This inviting patio is actually 21-and-over, but don't worry about calculating the dog years—pups of all ages are welcome to join you for seasonal pizzas and craft beers.
Blue Agave Mexican Grill, Gig Harbor
Yes, Blue Agave has fantastic burritos and fajitas, but Gig Harbor locals know it best for their strong drinks. Bring your dog to your next Margarita Monday or Taco Tuesday so they can join in on the fun.
