The Tacoma Museum District welcomed its newest addition, the Children's Museum of Tacoma on Jan. 14. The museum offers a pay as you will admission that eliminates cost barriers and makes the 8,000-square feet of playspace accessible to all families.
Children's imaginations will run wild as they explore the five main areas of the museum: woods, water, voyager (imagination), invention and Becka's Art Studio. Children can immerse themselves in the interactive elements such as the 14-foot waterfall, the 15-foot tall climbing toy and various other props. Comfortable seats are scattered throughout the museum for parents to supervise and there is also a full-service cafe.
Located downtown near the Tacoma Art Museum, the Children's Museum more than doubled its playspace in its new location.
Children can explore Sunday through Wednesday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information visit PlayTacoma.org.
