classy take on sustainability
Hotel Murano prides itself on the care taken from day one to make the hotel as energy efficient as possible. The hotel's restaurant, The Bite, is home to Executive Chef Matt Stickle. A regular at the Tacoma Farmer's Market, he is passionate about sourcing the best local ingredients and incorporating them into his menus at the Bite.
This is important to Stickle and guests. Stickle knows where his food comes from, what's been put into it and guests are assured they're eating healthy, locally grown foods. The hotel was a Sheraton before transforming into the Hotel Murano. It kept the old building's structure intact, only replacing soft goods for a simple, modern feel and keeping the hotel's glass atrium in the lobby and restaurant. For an art-inspired hotel, great care was taken in choosing energy efficient lighting for guest rooms, art work and gathering areas. The hotel is the only hotel in Washington State to use a Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger, saving up to half the energy used to cool the facility. Learn More?
