As part of a multi-media, month-long campaign targeted at Portland, Visit Tacoma-Pierce County brought a little piece of Tacoma to Portlanders - 100 little pieces to be exact.
Visit Tacoma-Pierce County hid 100 glass coasters that were hand-made by the Tacoma Glass Blowing Studio that said: "Made with love, in Tacoma, Pierce County, WA." Those who found the coasters were entered to win overnight packages.
More than 350 folks visited the Visit Tacoma-Pierce County + Pierce County booth in Pioneer Courthouse Square, in the heart of downtown Portland.
The glass scavenger hunt was only part of a month-long campaign, aimed at driving Portland visitors to spend one or two nights in Pierce County and included outdoor and digital advertising.
As a result, traffic was up in Oregon more than 100 percent during the campaign, and website search results have shown a significant increase in demand from the Portland metro market.
