We believe that part of being a destination marketing organization is setting cities up for success. One of the ways we do this is by making sure that the visitor's key touch-points - front desk clerks, museum volunteers, bartenders and waiters - are engaged and enthusiastic about the cities they are representing.

This summer we were able to take frontline staff from businesses such as the Hotel Murano, the Courtyard Marriott, and the Washington State Historical Society to see some of Pierce County's most unique attractions. The group got to know the county's collector car scene at LeMay Family Collection Foundation at Marymount and got a taste of major Mt. Rainier attractions such as The Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad

Visit Tacoma-Pierce County + Pierce County is planning another frontline tour in October, to introduce staff to the world of golf at Chambers Bay in preparation for the 2015 U.S. Open Championship in June.
