As spring rolls in, April brings sunshine, blooming flowers, and volunteer appreciation week. As an organization that uses volunteers daily we find it to be an important time of the year. Our number one goal at Visit Tacoma-Pierce County + Pierce County is to put the visitors first. Our volunteers are a huge part of making this happen. With their friendly greetings and helpful suggestions visitors leave our information center with a smile. We want to take the time to say thank you to our volunteer team.

Thank you for the time you give us

Thank you for the service you show

Thank you for the answers you give

Thank you for the bags you stuff

Thank you for your reliability

Thank you for your commitment

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Most of our volunteers man the desk in our visitor information center. They answer calls and help walk-ins with directions on where to go next, best places to grab a bite, and any other requests visitors might have. They keep the place clean and welcoming. They put together mailing packets for those who have requested them. Some of our volunteers are office volunteers and at the drop of a hat will come in and help us with big projects.

Each and every one of our volunteers does great work. Some have been with us over 20+ years and some started within the past couple months but they all have one thing in common and that’s their passion for Tacoma + Pierce County. When they speak to visitors you can hear their excitement as they talk about our museums and gorgeous waterfront. Without realizing it, they sell our county in the most wonderful of ways.

We are so appreciative of the service the volunteers provide for us. Visit Tacoma-Pierce County + Pierce County truly wouldn’t be what it is today without them.
