Washington D.C. is the home of thousands of associations. In October, the Visit Tacoma-Pierce County + Pierce County sales team, met with 22 meeting planners in D.C., who combined plan more than 100 meetings and conferences a year.
Josephine Gilmore, Meeting Planner at IMN Solutions Management Consulting was one such professional planner who attended the Visit Tacoma-Pierce County event, held at Nike Georgetown.
"[My clients] like Tacoma's big-city accessibility, but at a more affordable cost than Seattle," Gilmore shared. "It's a unique destination, with a unique geography." Gilmore went on to say that she's finding more and more interest in West Coast destination's as more people are willing to travel to the West Coast than other regions.
The D.C. Client event is part of Visit Tacoma-Pierce County's 2015 strategic plan to bring more association meetings and conferences to Pierce County.
