Answer: When it’s a rappelling wall.
That’s what’s happening at Hotel Murano on Sept. 30, when 70 people will strap themselves (or their bosses, via the Toss Your Boss option) into industrial harnesses, step off of the 26th-floor rooftop and rappel 245 feet down the side of the picturesque hotel. But it’s safe, and it’s for a good cause.
Part of being a good corporate citizen is giving back to the local community in a way that best shows what your organization is, and what it stands for. For a Pacific Northwest company like Provenance Hotels, sometimes that means turning one face of Hotel Murano’s picturesque façade into a thrill-seeker’s dream.
On Sept. 30, the Murano is doing just that, hosting Habitat for Humanity’s Habitat Challenge, where the first 70 people to register and collect $1,000 in sponsorship will have the chance to send themselves (or their boss) over the edge. Money donated in support of the Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity 2016 Habitat Challenge will go toward the group’s effort to build 16 houses, providing home ownership for low-income families.
If you’d like to get involved, you can visit the event’s Facebook page; have your business, school or club sponsor a team challenge; donate money directly or rally your friends and family to support your next adrenaline fix by registering as a participant.
