Soccer player showing off FIFA World Cup Tacoma Scarf

Soccer Scarves

Finders keepers!

If you found a scarf and wondered what that's all about, you're in the right place.

In anticipation of the FIFA World Cup games in Seattle, Visit Tacoma-Pierce County has created and hidden scarves around the Pacific Northwest.

You'll Like Tacoma

You'll like Tacoma

Our first design is a throwback to the 1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition in Seattle. Picture this: Seattle is hosting an international event, showing off her might and majesty to visitors from around the globe. There was a limelight to be borrowed, and who wouldn't want in on that action? Tacoma certainly did. So the city built a subtle, 250-foot-long, illuminated sign and slapped it down on the Montlake Cut in the heart of the event in Seattle, well within view of visitors and locals. Did the sign say Tacoma will change your life? Did it promise grandeur and wonder? It did not. "You'll Like Tacoma" is all it said. That sign took a place in Pacific Northwest history. Now that Seattle is hosting another international event, drawing the eyes of the world, Tacoma still has something to say, and that something is as true as it ever was: You will like Tacoma.

Juneteenth/ETC Collaboration

This scarf exists because sometimes history lines things up. In 2026, the world’s biggest soccer tournament includes a World Cup game in Seattle on Juneteenth: a day rooted in Black freedom, joy, and endurance. That was too important to ignore. Created in collaboration with eTc Tacoma, the design blends movement, sport, and Juneteenth colors to celebrate not just a match, but a moment. While the game itself is played in Seattle, this scarf grounds the celebration in Tacoma and Pierce County, places shaped by Black creativity, culture, and community that have always deserved a bigger stage. It is part souvenir, part statement: global events are richer when they honor local stories, and soccer, at its best, is about more than goals. It is about people, history, and showing up when the world is watching.
